Year 5 have enjoyed our Raiders and Settlers topic, learning all about Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. They have used historicl enquiry to research and present their findings about key events, places and people. Some of their favourite research topics include the Sutton Hoo burial site; Anglo-Saxon kings and the settlements of the Vikings.

Year 5 have been learning about orienteering, linked to our PE lessons with Mr Hodgkinson. We have been learning to follow directions; give clear instructions; use a map and key; develop our special awareness, co-ordination, agility and team work.

We had a fantastic time learning about common factors outside of the classroom. We had to find the factors of different numbers which had been placed around the field. We then used twigs and sticks to make a Venn diagram so that we could see the common factors.

This half term in Music, Year 5 have been studying 'Living on a Prayer' by Bon Jovi. We have used percussion instruments to investigate the rhythm of the song and now we are learning to play the melody on the keyboards.
